College & Young Adult Pastor (full-time Emmanuel staff position)
The Win – college students and young adults are called to become faithful followers of Jesus and are equipped to engage the world around them with the Gospel.
What the win looks like:
College/young adult ministry is growing in depth (spiritual growth) and width (numerical growth).
College/young adult leaders are effectively being produced by progressing through a leadership pipeline.
College/young adults are serving each other and the Emmanuel body.
College/young adult ministry staff are cared for and resourced.
Supervise and direct all college & young adult leaders and volunteers.
Plan and execute weekly gatherings, teaching and special events. These include weekly large groups gatherings, small groups on campus, retreats, fellowships, mission trips, etc…
Instill a culture of relational “life-on-life” ministry.
Work with NextGen pastor to develop and oversee an annual ministry budget.
Create clear expectations, clarity in roles and compelling vision for leaders and volunteers.
Equip college students and young adults for ministry roles inside and outside of the church.
Serve as a connection point and support for students at Montana State Univ Billings(MSUB & City College), Rocky Mountain College(RMC), and Montana College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Recruit a volunteer ministry team.
Empower college students and young adults to serve at Emmanuel and beyond.
Develop and communicate opportunities for college students and young adults to serve in mission, locally and oversees.
Care for and shepherd the people in the college/young adult ministry.
Share the Gospel with and disciple college students and young adults
Emmanuel church staff member
Full participation in Emmanuel at large, including regular attendance in worship on Sundays.
Full participation in staff-related meetings/events (Emmanuel, NextGen)
Unity with the rest of the staff (Emmanuel, NextGen)
Work with the student pastor to transition high school seniors into college ministry.
Love and disciple the people in our community
Other responsibilities assigned by direct supervisor
A mature, growing relationship with Christ.
A passion to see young adults know and love Jesus.
Become a member of Emmanuel in good standing.
Must have a bachelor’s degree. (Formal theological training is not required but is helpful)
Must complete a NextGen Staff/Volunteer application with current background check.
Must complete and stay current on Ministry Safe Sexual Abuse Awareness training.
Competent/growing in leadership abilities to include organization, delegation, administration, interpersonal relationships and communication.
